Greene LEAF is launching a campaign of giving to provide up to date technology in all seventeen Greene County Schools. The estimated cost of this ambitious endeavor $800,000. It is hoped that businesses, organizations, families, and individuals will take an active part in donating to the education of Greene County students for Greene LEAF to meet this goal in 2014. Donations will be used to provide technology for classrooms so that students can connect through technology and collaborate using these devices to develop the skills needed for their future endeavors. The pathway a student may choose upon graduating from our schools makes knowing when and how to use technology a must in our curriculum.
This initiative comes at a time when the district will be completing work on a robust managed wireless network in the Spring of 2014. Taking advantage of this investment, at least one 32 station laptop cart will be placed at each of the schools to provide access in the classroom to impact student achievement where it is needed the most - in the classroom. These carts may be moved throughout the school to be used as students and teachers need them.
