Greene LEAF, Local Educational Advancement Foundation, is a nonprofit organization developed by community leaders to celebrate the successes of Greene County Schools and to ensure that each child receives the education needed to enter the workforce in the twenty-first century. Greene County educators are dedicated to improving the lives of our more than 6,400 children. As caring community members,we all want to see our children succeed and have the very best.
With the support of our community and businesses,
we can supply the tools the teachers need to
provide our children with the opportunities they deserve!
Greene LEAF launched in March of 2013 and has been developing funding for needed technology and supplies in all seventeen schools in Greene County.
In 2016 alone 262 new devices, laptops or notebooks, were added to the schools. These are used throughout the curriculum for research, language skills, literacy improvement, computation, project development, multilevel skill development, and well as scientific calculation and research. Students in all grade levels are learning with technology and have access to computers on a regular basis.
Each year we have been able to add needed technology with all schools benefiting. We will continue to support the addition of computer devices for students until we are able to comfortably say that students have the computers needed without waiting to go to a computer lab or wait in line. We are trying to leave behind the days of "wait until we have the computers in our room" to find the answers to your question.
